Recommendations, conclusions, reports, and client-facing work remain subject to human review, professional judgment, and validation. We do not rely on AI alone to make important strategic, financial, operational, personnel, or client decisions.

We use AI as a supporting tool—not as a substitute for understanding the client’s business, asking the right questions, applying practical experience, or working directly with owners and leadership teams. Every contractor operates within a different market, structure, culture, and set of circumstances. Meaningful advisory work therefore requires context, discussion, judgment, and hands-on involvement that automated technology cannot independently provide.

Shapcott Lauber also considers confidentiality and information security when using AI-assisted tools. We seek to avoid entering sensitive client information, personally identifiable information, financial records, trade secrets, or other confidential materials into public or unapproved AI systems. Where AI may be used in connection with client work, we apply reasonable safeguards, limit information to what is appropriate for the task, and retain human responsibility for the final work product.

Because AI-generated information may occasionally be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or misleading, outputs are reviewed and verified as appropriate before being relied upon or delivered to a client. Shapcott Lauber remains accountable for the advice and materials we provide, regardless of whether technology assisted in their preparation.
