After working in the field, building businesses, and spending nearly three decades alongside owner-led companies, I understand the challenges and complexity of the construction trades. Growth can bring more work without bringing more control. Margins can disappear between the estimate and the field. Communication, handoffs, job costing, cash flow, and accountability can break down, leaving the owner as the operating system. I help contractors strengthen how they find the right work, do the work well, and keep score on the results—Originate. Execute. Measure.

Bill Shapcott

Owner & Business Coach

Bill Shapcott is a contractor business coach with more than three decades of experience working alongside owners of privately held companies across the United States and Canada. His connection to the construction industry began long before coaching: he served in the infantry, worked as a derrick hand in Northern Canada’s oil patch, and installed windows on high-rise office buildings from swing stages. Those experiences gave him a lasting respect for the people who work in the field and a firsthand understanding of the safety, schedules, handoffs, customer expectations, and margin pressures that shape every contractor’s business.

Since moving into management consulting in 1998, Bill has worked with more than 10,000 small and midsize businesses, many of them contractors and trade-related companies. He has also helped launch and build three consulting firms, including one that grew to more than 80 employees and another that grew from six to more than 120 people, earning an Inc. 500 ranking. Today, Bill brings that real-world experience to owner-led contractors who want stronger systems, clearer accountability, protected margins, and a business that can perform beyond the owner.

George Lauber

George Lauber is a results-driven business professional with more than 25 years of hands-on experience helping owners and leadership teams improve cash flow, profitability, and operating performance. His approach is practical, direct, and execution-focused. George helps businesses identify what is creating financial strain, operational inefficiency, or stalled growth, then puts disciplined systems, cost controls, and performance measures in place to create greater stability and sustainable improvement.

As a former operator, George understands the daily pressure leaders face when decisions, cash, people, and performance all demand attention at once. He has managed multi-million-dollar operating budgets, led and restructured teams, and made high-stakes decisions where timing and execution mattered. That experience allows him to bring clarity, accountability, and forward momentum to complex business situations—helping owners build stronger, more profitable organizations.
