Full Contractor Deep Dive Discovery Overview
Margins are thin, jobs run over, the pipeline swings, and your team is buried in paperwork. When problems show up everywhere, it's hard to tell which one to fix first.
That's what the Full Contractor Deep Dive is built for. It's a 5-day, fixed-fee construction business assessment that looks at your whole company in one engagement: profit and accounting, systems and operations, sales and pipeline, and AI and automation.
Profit, operations, sales, and people are all connected, so a problem in one usually shows up in another. We look before we recommend anything. No good surgeon operates without an X-ray first.

Who It's For
This Discovery is built for established, owner-led contractors with 10 to 100 employees: general contractors with $30M or more in annual revenue and specialty contractors with $2M or more.
It's a good fit if:
-
You know something isn't working, but you can't pin it to one area
-
Jobs and handoffs break down, and everything still runs through you
-
Winning the right work is a struggle
-
You want the full picture before you decide where to invest
Problems It Uncovers
A Full Contractor Deep Dive is built to show you:
-
Profit and accounting: where your money is really going, which jobs make money, and how strong your cash flow is
-
Systems and operations: how work moves from sale to job site to closeout, and where it breaks down
-
Sales and pipeline: how you find, price, and win work, and how to make your pipeline more predictable
-
AI and automation: where your company loses hours to manual admin work, and which tasks AI and automation can take off your team's plate first
-
How it all connects: which problem is driving the others, and what to fix first
What We Review
We've spent 5 decades in the consulting arena and talked with more than 10,000 trade business owners. Most problems don't stay in one part of the business, so the Deep Dive covers it all.
We'll ask for access to key records, including:
-
Your financials, typically 2 to 3 years of P&Ls or income statements
-
How you job cost, estimate, and schedule
-
How you find and win work
-
The software and tools you use today
We review your records, interview you and your key people, and then walk you through what we found. You'll need to set aside a few hours for the opening interview and the findings meeting. Before any detailed information changes hands, we sign a non-disclosure agreement. We never share your information or name our clients.
What You Get
At the findings meeting, we sit down with you and walk through:
-
Honest answers about what's really holding your business back, across every area
-
Clear priorities, so you fix the right things in the right order
-
A practical plan built around your company, not a generic program
-
A clear view of what improvement could be worth to your bottom line
After that, you choose. You can put the plan in place on your own, work with us through coaching, or bring us in as a fractional advisor. You can also do nothing. There's no pressure either way.
Timeline and Price
-
Fee: $2,400, fixed
-
Duration: 5 days
-
Guarantee: No deposit. If you're not satisfied with the findings, you pay no fee. The guarantee covers the Discovery fee; on-site travel expenses are billed separately.
-
Where: Remote-first. Most of the work is done with your records and video calls, so we serve contractors anywhere in the country from our base in Greensboro, NC. If you'd like us on-site, we're happy to come, with travel expenses covered by you.
Why a Fixed Fee
With a fixed fee, you know the cost before we start. Our job is to deliver, not to run the clock. What we bring is experience in the business of construction and a focus on the systems, methods, and controls that make a contractor more profitable and less dependent on the owner. No honest advisor can promise a specific result; that comes from you and your team doing the work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose the Deep Dive or a single Discovery?
Choose a single Discovery if one area is clearly hurting most: Profit & Accounting if margins or cash are the issue, Systems & Operations if jobs and handoffs break down, Sales & Pipeline if winning the right work is the struggle, or AI & Automation if admin work is eating your team's time. Choose the Deep Dive if you want the full picture. If you're not sure, we'll help you decide on the fit call.
Do I need a Discovery before coaching or fractional advisory?
In most cases, yes. We don't recommend solutions before we understand the problem.
What if I don't see the value?
Then you don't pay. There's no deposit, and the fee is only due if you're satisfied with the findings.
